E is for Endangered Species

Endangered species. I know, I know. Everyone is always talking about this but nothing seems to be happening. But today, I am going to tell you a little about endangered species, then what I would like to do about it.

There are many endangered species in the world. A few examples are, Amur leopards, snow leopards, elephants, over 1 third of bug and amphibian species and more. All of our animals are going extinct because of us. Humans. Our pollution, and habitat misuse are all reasons animals are going extinct. Even global warming is our doing. The reason polar bears are going extinct? Yeah, I know. This is the same stuff everyone else says but no one does anything anyway. Now though I will tell you about what I want to do!! (Not that it is guaranteed to happen!!)

I would like to start a campaign to raise money to help endangered species. The money would be given to an organization like the WWF. From the money would be used to fund research to prevent animals from going extinct. Another idea that I had was to "adopt" an animal. So every month or so, I would send some money to "my" animal, and that money would help feed and care for it. The animal that would be my first choice to sponsor would probable be the Amur leopard. Did you know that there are approximately 40 wild Amur leopards left?! (The picture is of an Amur Leopard.)
For more information on endangered species, go to http://www.worldwildlife.org/species

Life lesson: Right now, as you read this, a species is going extinct and dying. Do something about it. Don't just continue life as if nothing is dying because of us. Do something and help nature out.

Y is for Yummy foods

Yummy foods. Well to start I would never call something yummy. Delicious maybe, but not yummy. I only used yummy because I have already used the letters f and d. (If you haven't been following my blog posts, I am writing an alpha biography.) But back to my topic.

Today, you are going to read about my favourite foods. The category that most of them fall under would definitely be seafood. I LOVE seafood. The only kinds that I don't like are squid, octopus, mussels, and clams. That kind of stuff. Gross. Anyway, (Why must I keep getting off topic?!?!?!) my favourite seafood USED to be lobster. But then in Florida I kind of put half of the tail meat in my mouth at once and started gagging. So lobster is no longer my favourite. My new favourite is salmon. It has been in second place ever since I ate it in a restaurant in Stratford. Unfortunatly I can't remember the name, but the salmon there was the BEST salmon in ALL OF TIME!!!!!!

I also LOVE strawberries.

They are my favourite fruit and are really fun to pick. Every summer I go strawberry picking with my Grandma and we pick BASKETS of strawberries. Afterward we go to get ice cream. In the following weeks, we make tons of foods containing strawberries. They are very happy weeks.

So now you know about my favourite foods!! I hope you enjoyed!!!
Life lesson: Never eat too much of your favourite food

K is for Karate

K is for Karate. Well that is what I will tell you about today.
I bet that a lot of you didn't know that I took karate for 4 years. I really enjoyed it. One of my favourite parts of karate was sparing. Sparing was extremely fun because it was when you would fight your class mates using kicks, punches, and more. I don't mean to brag, but i was one of the best people in my class at sparing. I could beat people 2 levels higher than me.

There are also lots of different levels in karate. White, White-stripe, Yellow, Yellow-stripe, Orange, Orange-stripe, Green, Green-stripe, Blue, Blue-stripe, Brown, Brown-stripe, Black. After black there were all other sorts of levels but I can't remember all of them. The level I was at was Green-stripe. I was almost a Blue but then I started going to school here so I stopped so I would have time to do all of my homework.
In karate, we do more than just sparing. We do Kata's, (They are a bunch of moves put together,) weapon training, and LOTS of stretching. Weapon training was really fun because we all had our own bow (a long strong stick of wood,) and some people had mini pitch forks, (I can't remember the real name,) and numchucks. Had I continued, I would have gotten the pitch forks and numchucks, but because I stopped taking Karate, I only have the bow. In Weapon training, we would learn how to use and handle weapons. We would also put our weapon training into our Kata's. It was lots of fun.
So there you have it. K is for Karate.

Life lesson: Karate is not for the faint hearted

G is for My Favourite Greek God

My favourite Greek god... that is not a hard one. Poseidon, God of the Sea, Earthshaker, and Stormbringer.
He has many siblings but the "main" ones are Zeus, Lord of the Sky and Hades, God of the Underworld. Poseidon is my favourite for many reasons but the main one I think is his personality. He can be gentle and understanding at one point and "shaking the Earth" at another. He is really cool. His weapon of choice is a trident and he apparently has a really amazing underwater palace. (Not that I've ever been there!!) When I imagine Poseidon's underwater castle, I see a HUGE, coral, silver, mother of pearl and other beautiful things making it up. It has many large rooms, but my favourite is the throne room. It has a BEAUTIFUL coral and mother of pearl throne set into an all natural reef while the floor is see through and you can see the reef extending below the castle to the Ocean floor. Oh yeah and the castle floats just above the Ocean floor with a reef under it swirling in magical colours and beautiful fish that have never been discovered. There is always music playing in the castle and amazing creatures to spend time with. So that is how I imagine Poseidon's castle.

I always thought that it would be REALLY cool to be one of Poseidon's children. (If he were real.) But that would be "illegal" for him. You see, Poseidon and his brothers, Zeus and Hades, swore an oath on the River Styx to never again sire children. This was because their previous children were too powerful and were causing problems. So to solve this, the brothers just decided to stop having children. I think it was effective but dramatic. Gods, "Alright brothers. Our children are problems. Let's stop siring children. Swear you will. Good, now that, that matter has been taken care of, let's polish our weapons!!" But then again anywhere you read Greek myths, you will notice that the Gods tend to be pretty dramatic.

Another reason Poseidon is my favourite god is because he seems the most "normal" of the gods. Usually he doesn't act all high and mighty like the others. Instead, he seems more human like in personality. So there you have it. All the reasons why Poseidon is my favourite Greek god.

Life lesson: No one is perfect, not even gods.

I is for impossible things that shouldn’t be impossible

Impossible things. Well to be clear with you I don’t think that anything should be impossible. Unfortunately there are some impossible things in the world such as going underwater and not getting you or the object you’re inside wet and lifting an entire building out of the ground without ANY damage what-so-ever. But I think that there should be some things that should NOT be impossible, and that is what I want to talk about.
I, think that some things shouldn’t be impossible, because it could save a lot of lives, and not cost as much in insurance and such. An example of this, would be the ability to defy gravity, without the aid of technology. Say that someone fell into the Grand Canyon. They would be able to defy gravity and survive the fall. If they couldn’t defy gravity, goodbye cruel world for them. Another reason that some things shouldn’t be impossible is simply for recreations sake. Everyone wants to have fun, and how fun would it be to do the impossible?!?! Amazingly fun, I say. For example if you wanted a fairy birthday party, would it not be so cool to be able to shrink? (Tell me if I`m wrong!!)
So that is why I think some things should not be impossible.

Life lesson: Some things would be cool to be possible but sometimes they are not for a reason!!!!!

F is for Friends

F is for friends. I have many friends. I`ll start with my old school friends, and end with my present friends. At my old school I had LOTS of friends. To name a few are Maddie, Emma, Emma,(yes there was 2), Courtney, Christina, Carmen, Kendra, Karly, Lauren, Nicole, Miranda, and more. (Sorry if I missed any of you!!!) All of these friends I have known on average, since I believe, 2nd grade. Some were there even before that! (But so was I.) I had some really great friends then. Most of them I still see every once and a while because we all live in the same small town. All of my friends are really nice and love to laugh along with friends. We had all been together most of our lives and they were all sad to see me go. With that I`ll talk about my present friends.

Some of their names are, Marina, Libby, Emma, and Darcy. My friends now are almost the exact same as my old friends except, they seem to have a little more energy in their systems. I`ll give you some details on them now. Marina, (who has recently moved to Toronto,) is really cool. She is a cat lover and an EXTREMELY random person. In the middle of a conversation about total world destruction, she says ``ding. Cheese will make you constipated. Bob ate my cake and is gone now.`` I told you she was random. But she is still an awesome person and will rip your head off at anything you do to make one of her friends anything but happy. Libby is cool to. She LOVES pigs and intends to be a marine biologist when she gets older. She loves the colour black, is a vegetarian and a red head. My friends and I tease her about marring Rupert Grint and their pigs having piglet babies while they have red head babies!!! (HAHAHA!!) Now Emma is a lot more, calm I`ll say. She is really good at math, loves animals and friends, and she likes to have everything calm, cool, and organized. But she isn`t all butterflies and rainbows. She can whip your butt if she wanted to. She is a very high rank in karate and to my knowledge is VERY good at it. So WATCH OUT!! Darcy is very much like Emma. She loves animals, is good at school, and she likes everything organized. But she also LOVES sports. I don`t think there is a sport she HASN`T tried. All of my friends are cool, energetic people and I couldn't live without them. I LOVE YOU GUYS!!! I hope you enjoyed!!!

P is for Pets

I have owned many pets in my life. Well not as many as most people but I think that we have. I have known 3 pets that I consider partially or entirely mine. Fin, the Japanese fighting fish,(Sorry I don't have a picture of him.) P.J., a silver tabby, and Gucci, a gold glittering Bengal. So now that you know their names how about some history? When we got P.J. it was a BIG surprise. My family minus my father had just walked in the door of the house after getting back from the cottage. My dad greeted us and told us he had a BIG surprise for us as soon as we were settled down. So we got settled pretty quickly. Then he lead us down to the basement and told us to be very quiet and calm. Then he opened the door to the unfinished part and we walked in. My dad closed the door and said, "Everyone I'd like you to meet your new cat." I almost screamed. I had always wanted and cat and this was my first pet. I was SO exited. Then my dad told us the first person to find him would get to play with him first. So we all went hunting around until I found him sleeping under our ping-pong table. He was simple adorable. He had short silver fur, a small pink nose, even smaller paws and beautiful pastel green eyes. It was like an angel fell off a cloud and into my life. All through the rest of his life I felt like this about him. When we moved last year he started peeing on everything. It was really sad but in the end we had to put him down. I still miss him but now I will move on to Gucci.

I got Gucci as a Christmas present the year we moved. (This was before we put P.J. down.) I remember sitting under the Christmas tree on Christmas morning with my family and opening gifts. Then my parents pulled a HUGE gift out and gave it to me. As soon as it was in my hands I tore open the paper to see a box that said ``Kitten welcome home kit``. I was really exited just seeing it but then it got better. My parents then said, ``Something else also comes with this gift Chloe. A bran new kitten.`` I just sat there a with my smile getting bigger, and bigger. Then I couldn't stop thanking everyone and I was just SO exited! A few days later we drove to Kennelworth. (it was the name of the town were we bought Gucci,) and we went to a Bengal breeder and picked Gucci. I choose her because I wanted a girl and there were only 2 girls at the time, one of which being to young to take home. So I picked Gucci and went home. (We didn't bring her home right away because we were going on a vacation to B.C.) When we got back, we picked up Gucci and her life with us began. Now a days she isn't the little angel she was as a kitten but we all love her. (Even though she makes life harder than necessary.)

So to wrap it up, I love all of my pets and will love them all through their lives.

Life lesson: Love your pets forever and always because you never know when you might hit a bump in the rode.

D is for Demigods (Percy Jackson)

Demigods are people just like you and me. Well maybe not just like us. Demigods are half Greek god, half human. I know, awesome. But since this is supposed to be about me, (see Miss Weldon, I REMEMBERED!!!) and so I will talk about my opinion on Percy Jackson, the origin of demigods, and a book that I think is amazing. I first heard of Percy Jackson books a few years ago when a friend of mine, told me about them. As soon a I started reading, I knew this book would be the kind that once you've read it all other books are boring. And what did I tell you? I was right. When I heard that there was new books coming out I HAD to read them. I have recently read the latest book and looking back I can not decide which book was the best. Oh I should tell you all the names of the books:
The Lightning Thief
The Sea of Monsters
The Titans Curse
The Battle of the Labyrinth
The Last Olympian

Click HERE to go to the official Percy Jackson website.
SPOILER ALERT!!!
The Percy Jackson book series is official called Percy Jackson & the Olympians, and I would recommend it to anyone with even a slight interest in reading. So now I will tell you what it is about. The series is about a boy named Percy Jackson and his life being a Demigod. It often involves Percy going on a quest to fulfill a prophesy with his best friends Annabeth and Grover. They also include MANY near death experiences. Typical. Anyways Percy Jackson is a great series no mater what you think of it. So to end it here is my life lesson:

Life Lesson, don't close a book before you read it because you will never know what marvelous story it might contain.

B is for Backpacks

Backpacks are an essential part of school. You use them for, carrying your text books, homework, projects and more. So now I'll say something about what I think should be done with them. (Or how they should "evolve"). In the future, backpacks should be made of recycled plastic, craft materials, and whatever else can be recycled. Except paper. It should be made from these materials because year after year kids see the new backpack styles and get a new backpack. Even if the one from last year is still intact. If backpacks were made from these materials, it wouldn't be such a problem to throw out all those bags. Also, if craft materials were in the mix, they could make the bags look really cool and kids might keep their backpacks longer.

One down side to recycled materials is that they wouldn't be nearly as strong as the material one, therefore needing you to be extremely careful with them. You wouldn't be able to just shove your books in your bag and run. No, you would have to gently place in your books and arrange them just right. But then again there probably is a way to make the recycled materials strong, especially with all the advanced equipment that we have these days.

So with everything said, in summary, we should make backpacks out of recycled materials to cut down on some landfill, filling. So that is my opinion on Backpacks and I hope you enjoyed!!

A is for animals

A is for animals.

I like animals for many reasons but here are the main points. Animals do not judge you no matter what you look like or your interests. The only reason an animal would ever be unkind to you would be for self defense, or you showed that animal unkindness. Another reason I like animals is that they really care about things. If you give an animal a chance to get to know you they really will listen to you even if they can't answer. I know that with Gucci, I can tell her anything and she will sit and listen. Gucci never makes eye contact but if I tell her something that is important to me she looks strait into my eyes with a look that makes you know, she understands.

I like lots of animals. Not just cats, (although they are my favorites!) I like wolves, foxes, dolphins, baby birds, rodents, and more. I have chosen some specifics for a few reasons. I can relate to them somehow, I dislike the way they have to live and wish it were different, and I have seen many pictures in my life and each time I see these animals, I envy them. But not for the reasons you might think. I envy them because they are still "one" with nature. I mean to say they haven't parted ways like we have. We got up and wrote our own rules. Animals just stuck to hat they new best and look where they are. They don't have to deal with the economy. They don't worry about how much they have compared to others. They only worry about what is best for their families and how to get food home. (And how not to get eaten!) So there you have it. My thoughts on animals.

Life lesson; Think before you act.
