Want to here another fact? The ancient 
Egyptians would have died of starvation,(The picture to the left is a smilodon skeleton.) if cats hadn't saved them from the rodents. There was an infestation of rodents in the grain stores and they were spreading disease to all the Egyptians. Then they realised that the population of rodents were diminishing quickly. They found out that wild cats from the desert had snuck into the grain stores and were killing the rodents. The Egyptians from then on worshiped cats and "found" two new goddesses. Bastet the goddess of pleasure and her sister, (who's name has escaped my mind at the moment,but was the goddess of war,) were the goddesses who were shown with cat heads but human body's. I know, cool.
Cats have evolved a lot since the time of the Egyptians. Then, they were just wild cats from the desert but look at them now! Now they're fat, lazy rulers of the house hold. But I don't want to bore you with cats evolution. No, now you get to here some fun facts. (The picture above is Bastet.)
- pixie bobs have an extra toe on each foot
- the dew claw is used to catch and hold prey so it can be eaten
- you've all seen that triangular ear part on a cats head right, well it's called a pinna, and can rotate almost 180 degrees around! that almost completely backwards!!
- cats have a third eyelid that can be seen when a cat is extremely sick
- cats are very flexible because the bones in they're spine are farther spread out than a humans
- did you know that some breeds of cats love water
- big cats, such as a tiger or lion cannot purr
- the spots or stripes that a cat has in its fur, pelt are there to help it camouflage in shadows, beneath trees
- did you know that there is such thing as a "l'iger"
- when communicating, cats use much more than just meowing; they use mostly body language
